How To Master The Art Of Preparing Pan Pizza

July 16, 2018

Pan pizza is perfect to share on movies night with your kids or as a quick and easy main course if you’re welcoming unexpected guests. Prepare it in a pan on your stovetop instead of working up the oven. Everyone will fall in love with the flavors!

Choose the dough

You can always buy a store-bought dough or prepare a dough from scratch. If you’re looking for a quicker alternative, prepare a no-knead dough: combine dry ingredients such as flour, salt and yeast in a large bowl. Whisk in a mixture of lukewarm water and oil then mix until all the ingredients come together.

To rise or not?

If you’re cooking with regular homemade dough, let it rise for about 2 hours before you start cooking, covered with a kitchen towel then spread in the pan. As for store-bought or no-knead dough, you can use it immediately.

Before you start cooking

Prepare all your ingredients before you start cooking, especially the toppings. Cook the sauce if needed, sauté vegetables and shred the cheese. Arrange all the toppings with easy access right where you’ll be cooking the pizza.

How to cook the pizza?

Roll out the dough on a floured surface to get a round shape and make sure the diameter is slightly smaller than your Intuition Stainless Steel non-stick pan. Place the pan over high heat and rub the bottom with a little bit of oil. Once the oil is simmering cook the dough for 1 minute on the first side. If you notice bubbles, you can deflate them but leaving them won’t cause a problem. Once you flip the dough, immediately add the sauce, toppings and shredded cheese because it won’t take you long to cook the bottom side of your pizza.
