The heating element is not to be cleaned. If it is really dirty, wait until it has cooled down and wipe it with a dry cloth.

Precautions for cleaning the plate: unlike stones, the plates do not have the same level of porosity and are more resistant to water.
The plate can be cleaned by hand with a sponge, warm water and dishwashing liquid or directly in the dishwasher.

Warning: let the plate cool completely before washing it.

• Unplug the cord from the mains, then, depending on the model, disconnect it from the appliance.
• Allow the appliance to cool completely for at least 1 hour, without touching the plate. During this time, keep the appliance out of reach of children.
• Depending on the model, you can lift up the heating element to make cleaning easier.
• The body of the appliance and the reflector can be cleaned with a sponge, hot water and washing-up liquid. Do not use a metallic scourer or scouring powder. Never immerse the appliance or the cord in water.

Wash the raclette pans by hand with a soft sponge, warm water and dishwashing liquid.
Do not use a metal sponge to avoid scratching the surface.

Warning: allow the pans to cool completely before cleaning.

You can lightly grease the plate with a paper towel soaked in oil. This prevents food from sticking to the plate and makes cleaning easier afterwards.
